Merit Awards for Undergraduate Research

The Merit Awards for Undergraduate Research will acknowledge the scientific merit of research projects carried out by final year undergraduates in the faculty in a given year. The final year students of all three degree programs offered by the Faculty of Agriculture completed their research during the 4200 series are evaluated at the respective Department level. The students eligible for the merit awards will be selected based on marks awarded for “scientific content of the presentation” at the final year undergraduate research presentations at the Department and the total number of students selected will be decided based on
the final year student population of the particular Department. Students selected at the Department should submit an application and the selections will be made under four to six themes. An external panel of subject matter specialists will select the top three projects from each theme.


Objectives:
The award intends to recognize the undergraduate research projects with higher scientific merits conducted in a given year.
