Outreach Centers
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya encompasses several outreach centers that play significant roles in promoting and advancing agricultural knowledge and practices.
Agribusiness Centre is brings together university academics and decision-makers from diverse industry organizations including producers, manufacturers, marketers, policymakers, and service providers. The centre conducts consultancies, training programmes, workshops and field-based research programmes through effective linkages with national and international organizations.
The Agricultural Biotechnology Centre (AgBC) at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya is Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by experienced professionals, AgBC offers training programs, research opportunities, and industry collaborations, contributing to the growth and maturity of the biotechnology industry in Sri Lanka and the region.
The Agriculture Education Unit (AEU) has multiple tasks that include training trainers in agriculture and related fields, providing consultation on curriculum development and teaching methodologies, conducting research, participating in policy planning and capacity building, and supporting national development programs related to agriculture in Sri Lanka.
The Gender Education and Women's Initiative Unit (GEWIU) aims to empower women and individuals from various disciplines by providing skills development opportunities and a platform for collaboration. GEWIU serves as a space for women to exchange ideas, address challenges specific to their training programs or careers, and benefit from the resources and expertise offered by the unit and its network.
