The University Experimental Station is based at Dodangolla, Kundasale in the mid country intermediate zone in Sri Lanka. The farm was established in 1968 for the purpose of utilizing for the undergraduate academic programme offered by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya and provides great support in outreach training programmes and research opportunities, offered for various government, private and non-government organizations in the country and promote collaborative research with foreign universities, on agriculture and allied field of study.
Uniqueness of the University Experimental Station
- Topography of the land:
The farm occupies 79 ha of land which is extending from sloppy landscape to flat landscape.
- Consist of several soil great groups in one place:
Those are Reddish Brown Latasolic, Red Yellow Podzolic and Immature Brown Loam.
- Range of vegetation:
Due to different soil types, a range of vegetation also could be observed in the farm.
