Third Study Abroad Training Program offered to Michigan State University (MSU) of USA was completed successfully.

Description

The Third Study Abroad Training program on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture Systems of Sri Lanka offered by the Agriculture Education Unit (AEU) of the Faculty of Agriculture to the Michigan State University (MSU) of the USA was held from 8th May to 4th June 2014. Twelve Students and one faculty member from the MSU and four Sri Lanka students took part in the 28-days long program that was held at PeradeniyaNuweraEliya, Mahailuppallama, and Kalawewa regions. The program was coordinated by Dr. MojithAriyarathne, with Professors BuddhiMarambe and Pradeepa Silva as co-coordinators. Academia from the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts, Science and Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of Peradeniya, and scientists from the Departments of Agriculture, Export Agriculture, National Botanic Gardens and National Zoological Gardens, Tea Research Institute, and National Aquaculture Development Authority, and officers of the Lalan Rubber (Pvt) Ltd, Lonach Dairy Farm, Jagro (Pvt) Ltd served as resource persons.
