We have two units for breeding and fattening swine in our swine unit. The types of pigs we raise in this unit include Lage whites, Landraces, and Durocs. We have approximately 24 breeding sows that are used for breeding purposes. A pig that has been weaned from this section will be transferred to the fattening unit for fattening. The animals are fed concentrates and swills obtained from the canteens and hostels of the university. The appropriate pigs in these fattening units are slaughtered on a weekly basis and their meat is sold to the university community through our sales centers. It is also our intention to sell piglets in the near future.
