A RESIDENTIAL WORKSHOP, AS A PART OF THE GROUND WATER RECHARING PROJECT FOR DISASTER PREPAREDNESS BY SRI LANKA RED CROSS

Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Kurunegala Branch, hosted a two day residential workshop in Galgamuwa for agriculture students of University of Peradeniya, as a part of thier Ground water Recharging Project for Disaster Preparedness Project.

Students were able to visit some areas where Ground Water Recharging Units have been installed by the project and locations where climate change adaption projects are implemented. They had the opportunity to have discussions with resource personnels regarding the research that htey are carrying on. 

Agricultural Extension majoring students together with few students from other majoring fields including soil science and crop science, joined with the programme. Further, 15 students from the seconde year also had the priviledge in attending the sessions.
