GENERO Creative Expressions Awarding Ceremony 2023
The awarding Ceremony of the "Genero Creative Expressions 2023" organized by the Gender Education and Women's Initiative Unit (GEWIU), Department of Agricultural Extension, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya was held on 27th June 2023 at the Media Incubator Space, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya.
The invited guests were the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Sarath Kodithuwakku, and the Former Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and the founder of the GEWIU, Dr. Vijaya Jayathilaka. Out of over 100 submissions, 28 winners were recognized across three categories: Poems, Short Stories, and Memes awarded. These outstanding contributions were selected separately in three languages: Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
Genero Creative Expressions 2023 had been opened for the undergraduates of the University of Peradeniy
a based on the theme ‘Gender and Society’ to educate and improve awareness about gender-based diversity, and fundamental values of gender and to reveal the gender-related problems within the society.
