On-Going Course In English

Offered in the 2100 semester, this course aims to aims to develop students’ formal communicative skills in English for study purposes in the academic context to achieve a similar competence level as IELTS Band 5-6. Furthermore, the intended learning outcomes of the course are as follows:

produce error-free sentences that express predictions,
summarize and paraphrase the content of academic papers/ articles in order to identify contextual meanings of academic texts,
differentiate between formal and informal aspects of language,
select the appropriate language in presentations of academic nature,
identify, extract and describe data from scientific reports and essays, and,
deliver speeches in formal settings.
