Visit to AgBC by United States Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies in Rome Cindy McCain and US Ambassador Julie Chung

United States Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies in Rome Cindy McCain, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung and their teams visited the Agricultural Biotechnology Centre, Faculty of Agriculture (AgBC) on September 28th 2022. The delegates visited the National Referral Laboratory established at the AgBC recently through the Biosafety Project of the FAO along with the Ministry of Environment and with funding from the Global Environment Facility. Then the delegates had a discussion with Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, VC University of Peradeniya, Prof. Sarath Kodithuwakku, Dean/Faculty of Agriculture, Heads of the Departments, Directors of the centres, and several senior academics from the Faculty of Agriculture.
