International workshop on Harnessing the Plant Microbiome for Agricultural Sustainability

India-Sri Lanka Foundation funded International workshop on ‘Harnessing the Plant Microbiome for Agricultural Sustainability’ which was organized by the Board of Study in Plant Protection, Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture was held at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya on 23-24th April 2026. Scientists from Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, India and National research institutes, National Universities and Department of Agriculture, Sri Lanka served as resource persons. Participants of the workshop represented the Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Department (Central Province), National Research Institutes, Cooperate sector representatives of the plantation sector and postgraduate students.Prof. Devika De Costa served

as the Sri Lankan PI and Coordinator of the workshop. Mr. Ryan Rienzie was the Co-Coordinator of the workshop. Dr. Ishanka Hemachandra served as the session coordinator of the poster and laboratory demonstration session.
