The Board of Study (BS) in Crop Science which was established with the formation of the Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture in 1975 offers postgraduate degrees in a diverse range of areas including Crop Science, Horticulture, Floriculture & Landscape Architecture, Environmental Forestry, Plantation Crop Management, and Tropical Agriculture. The degree programme are focused on the integrated crop production technologies and development of forestry and agroforestry related solutions with a view to upgrade the scientific and practical knowledge base of agricultural scientists. The research work carried out in fulfilment of its research degrees has made a significant contribution towards improving crop productivity in the country.

The vision of the Board of Study in Biostatistics (BOS-BS) which was established in 1997 is to achieve excellence in postgraduate teaching and research in Applied statistics and Biostatistics. With that, the BOS-BS offers MSc. MPhil and Phd degrees both in Peradeniya and Colombo branches every year.
