Productivity Enhancement Training - 2019


Annual field farmer training conducted by the final year students as per the course requirement of EX 4103: Productivity Enhancement Training, was successfully held in Madulla village in Nuwaraeliya District, on 18th and 19th October 2019 with the participation of over 100 participants. Training was conducted under four themes as Pepper, Other crops (mainly Ginger and Turmeric), Women and Youth. In addition to the technical training, ICT- based market opportunities were introduced for the farmers, especially for Pepper. With the collaboration of Hadabima Authority and Department of Export Agriculture. Jack fruit plants and Pepper plants were also distributed among the participants. Ms.B.S.A.K. Rathnayake and Dr. J.M.P.N.Anuradha coordinated the programme. Resource persons from the Department of Export Agriculture, Hadabima Authority, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Services and Women Development Centre attended the programme. The Dean, and staff members of Department of Agricultural Extension attended the programme.
